Biz Czar LLC is located in upstate NY. We developed a unique line of characters made from a range of materials and technology.

Our studio relies on 3D printing, 2D/3D graphics software, silicones, plastics, pigments, paints, and traditional sculpting tools. Much of the design and planning of our characters are based in 3D printing. If you are not familiar with this technology here are the basics…

A 3D model is imported into software which automatically slices it into layers. The software also plots a precise deposition path to follow. Plastic is fed into an extrusion head, heated to a semi-liquid state and accurately deposited along the path in layers. Models are built from the bottom up, one layer at a time. If you look closely, you can see the individual layers in the final part!

Reposy was designed using the method mentioned above. First, a model was sculpted using 3D software. Next began a long process of printing, reprinting, and printing again. Finally parts and magnets fit together and Reposy was created.

Head Parade also used 3D printing during the sculpting, mold making, and casting process. Each stage of the process benefits from the accuracy and tolerance afforded by 3D printing. Head Parade used traditional sculpting tools and clay for character development on top of armatures printed in 3D. This style of traditional and new technology combines well to make Head Parade an enjoyable twist on traditional sculpting, mold making, and casting.

Cigar Czar was developed prior to our studio having access to a 3D printer. Cigar Czar was originally sculpted using only traditional sculpting, mold making, and casting methods.
